In collaboration with Tyrone Moore of Moore Construction Group, Kate Walker of Kate Walker Design helped specify, source and supply the majority of the hard finishes, including stone tiles, kitchen bench tops, pavers and pool tiles. Details of the specification are outlined below.
Bathrooms and Ensuite and Main Floor Tiles: Turkish Classic Travertine, honed, cross cut and filled, 610x610x12.5mm This material was selected for it’s modern elegance, yet classical appeal. It’s timeless nature lends itself perfectly to blending the classical entrance of the property, to the modern rear. The stone was sealed with Dupont Sealer, for the ultimate in stone care and maintenance. For a luxurious touch, Tyrone opted to tile the bathrooms and ensuite to ceiling height, making the rooms appear much larger, and beautifully finished. The freestanding bath was selected to also provide a feeling a luxury.
Kitchen: Two-pac cupboards, in Whisper White, with Frosty Carina benchtops (reconstituted stone to emulate natural stone). The stone bench tops were selected to ensure that practicality was taken into account, however the look of natural stone was not compromised. Ilve and Miele appliances were installed. The travertine was used on the floor to carry through the theme from the ensuite and bathroom at the front of the home.
External: Turkish Travertine, honed, cross-cut and unfilled 610x610x12.5mm Tyrone decided to create a seamless look from indoor to outdoor, by taking the same material outside. As the stacker doors open, the definition between inside and out is diffused, creating the feeling of one large space. Tyrone opted to use the unfilled version of the travertine outside for its increased slip resistance properties, compared to the honed and filled version.
Pool Tiles: 48×48 porcelain gloss white mosaics on mesh. The white tiles give the pool water the palest of blue colour. The travertine was used again as a pool coping tile, creating a seamless look from inside, to outside and around the pool. Tyrone’s company, Atomic Pools, are the pool builders.
