Natural stone includes the following products: granite, sandstone, limestone, bluestone, marble, travertine and dry wall cladding. Most stone can be produced as pavers and/or tiles depending on the requirements. Sizes vary also. KWD can specify, source and supply any range of natural stone.

In the Alkira project featured above, KWD specified, sourced and supplied granite pavers 1000x500mm for the outdoor entertaining area. They are a contemporary choice but will not date quickly.

Dry wall cladding is one of the most exciting natural stone applications out there at the moment. It’s can look incredible both outside and inside. Here, it was used along the length of an entire swimming pool to create both boundary fencing and a feature wall. Dry wall cladding is currently one of KWD most desired hard finishes.

Arguably one of the most stunning natural stones is travertine. Usually sourced from Italy or Turkey, travertine can take several forms –  honed, tumbled, filled or unfilled. When surrounding a swimming pool, for example, tumbled and unfilled gives much greater slip resistance than honed and filled travertine. This pool is surrounded by the eye catching silver travertine.

For a classic, elegant and soft finish, sandstone does the job beautifully. This Melbourne home highlights just how sophisticated and stylish this stone is when incorporated into an outdoor landscaping project.
