Product news: BLAC Pots

Multi-award-winning garden and exterior designer, Peta Donaldson, designs gardens that are fundamentally strong in form, texture and scale, with a focus on the balance between strong architectural lines, meticulous planting and elegant styling. Each design is carefully and professionally managed, respecting the architecture of a home, creating a seamless relationship between both the interior and exterior.

Peta launched BLAC in Mt Martha village a few years ago, and while her creative design work comes together in her studio and she works on a number of local projects, a large percentage of her work still stems from the inner suburbs of Melbourne.

A Garden Called Frank

“Minimalism is fundamental to the design philosophy at BLAC,” says Peta. “We focus on the considered use of space, form, detail of material, scale and human interaction. We aspire to create gardens that are aesthetically beautiful yet highly functional and take into consideration the interior and exterior palette of the home incorporating it seamlessly into a timeless landscape. The ultimate consideration is designing an exterior space with purpose that will encourage a life outside.”

Peta has now launched a strong and simple range of plant pots inspired by the iconic architects of the mid-century era. Explains Peta, “Unapologetically minimalist, the entire BLAC pot range has been highly considered in its design with each style offering an elegant, bold and timeless addition to any home. Our staple range is available in classic matt white and matt black in four sizes, and I’ll select an additional key colour to celebrate the change of each season.”

BLAC is releasing the ‘Eclipse’ range for summer which features a dark and moody navy blue. “This collection, which is only available until the end of February, has a powerful, calm and mysterious elegance. The pieces work beautifully with modern, contemporary, coastal and traditional décor, and look divine styled with a hint of brass.”

ECLIPSE_4-1

The BLAC pot range is handcrafted by small, family-owned manufacturers in Northern Vietnam where they have been creating homewares for over 900 years, passing down their skills from generation to generation. Each piece of BLAC has its own character, its own quirks and its own beauty, so that no two pieces are exactly the same. It is this uniqueness that defines each and every piece, individually stamped to guarantee its authenticity.
